The resource, patiently.

We measure and we archive, year after year. That is what makes us a witness to the cause.
Securing access to water and food — over the long term and in emergencies. And keeping the record, year after year.
Source & Sillon is a French international-solidarity organisation. We work on two fronts that are really one: securing water, and securing food for rural communities.
Our work runs on two timescales — long-term rural development, and emergency response when a crisis breaks. On every site, we stay: it is this continuous presence that lets us measure, compare and bear witness.
The same ground, two clocks. One runs over years; the other is counted in days. We hold both.

Every action is time-stamped, every register dated. That is what makes us a witness to the impact.
Because we are present before, during and after, we hold data series that no one else has.
In development, our records trace the normal state of a resource. In an emergency, our time-stamped registers pin down the exact scale of a crisis. Placed side by side, this data tells the truth of a territory: what changed, when, and by how much.
On this site, our before/after series establish that the resource collapsed when mining began — not because of a drought, none having been recorded over the period. When the food crisis broke, our teams shifted into emergency response and documented its real scale, register after register.
Source & Sillon operates across several sites, in development and in emergencies. Tavranie is one of our active missions.
Village water supply, agricultural support and resource monitoring for several years. Shifted to emergency response — distributions, nutrition, registration — since the water table collapsed.
